Is Brazil a good place to live?

Well, I am Brazilian, so I think I can answer the question. Yes, Brazil is a good place to live. Just like anywhere else around the world, if you have money, your life is gonna be easier here. It’s not a poor country! It is a country with poor people (and very rich ones) but it has been changing for the last few years. Some things the most part of people don’t know about our country:

• We don’t speak Spanish, we speak Portuguese;

• There are a lot people in Brazil who hates Carnival;

• We don’t have people shooting children on schools, because we are not allowed to have guns;

• Our children use to get free meals on public schools, since the 60’s;

• We have a public system for health insurance (since the 60”s), it includes the medicines and we don’t have to pay for it;

• We have the most modern election system of the world, and we know the results 3 hours after the election is finished;

• Our children use to get free books on public schools, from kindergarten to high school, and they get new ones each 3 years;

• Gay marriage is allowed all over the country;

• Gambling is forbidden;

• Hunting is forbidden;

• Brazil can be a very cold country during winter, especially in South (I live in South Brazil and it is snowing right now (although it is very rare);

• We are obligated to vote on elections;

• Poor families use to get money from the government, but they must keep their children on school to get it;

• There are special police departments just for women who are victims of domestic violence;

• 30% of the candidates for the Congress must be women;

• Minors cannot be arrested (before 18);

• The maximum jail time is 30 years;

• And what about our beaches? Yes, they are wonderful, but the most part of Brazilian have never been there, because we live in the country side (and we hate Rio…lol).

If you are white or rich, yeah sure, Brazil is the best place to live, however if you are poor or black, dude i advice to do not go there, there are a lot of skinheads mainly in cities such as são paulo,Florianipois...

the Brazilian elit is composed of religious fanatics, white people and corrupt politicians, it means that nowadays Brazil lives an invisible religious and racist dictatorship.

Brazil is denominated by us Brazilian like BELINDIA that is Belgium united with India. If you have money is as living in Belgium if you are poor you live as in India.

It depends where! Like in every country there is some parts where you don't want to live.
