Changing the oil and spark plugs in my Dodge Ram?

I'm just looking to get some opinions. I'm gonna do a little tune up on my truck. It has the 5.7L hemi. I'm probably gonna be using mobil 1 extended life advanced synthetic 5w-20 with a K&N oil filter. The plugs I'll probably be using is Bosch platinum. What do y'all think about those choices?

synthetic is always a good choice for higher compression engines, and i honestly haven't heard anything bad about K&N. Mobil is a good choice but i'd also recommend Pennzoil or Castrol, just avoid any high-mileage bullshit(there's no such thing as a mechanic in a bottle). i've been using Bosch plugs for years, they usually do well.

**just in case this is your first time changing plugs, make sure you have an actual spark plug socket as well as the proper extensions to get in there. the older Hemi's plugs were right on top of the valve covers, i'm not sure if the 5.7 is setup like this but it should be a lot easier to reach. if the plugs are a bit rusty when they come off, be very careful not to strip the bolt.

I would use the 10w30 Valvoline motor oil. If you in a colder climate use the 5w30, but I believe in Valvoline motor oil. Had a truck and used this oil only and when i sold it I had 350,000 miles on it and still run great. Don't waste your money on synthetic oils. Also look in owners manual and use the recommended factory plugs. Don't waste money on things that won't help. K&N is a great product too.

I put Bosch plugs in my pickup and I had it at my mechanic for some work.

He advised me to stick with the brand of plugs that came in it when new.

In a Dodge that would be Champion in a GM use AC Delco in ford use Autolight or motor craft.
