worried about tss (left tampon in/already sick from before)?

I've had a super bad cold/cough/flu since last thursday, and I got my period on saturday. i'm usually very irregular, and this one was unusually heavy, so i've been using regular/super/superplus tampons. this morning i put in a tampon (either reg or super i cant remember) at 9:30ishh. At 1ish i went to change tampon/pad (im at a 10 day athletic competition so i'm using both because im outside all day and cant leak on uniform). I was in a rush and completely forgot to take out the tampon after i changed my pad, but i put a new one in (superplus aborb.). I put in another at 4ish i took it out (the second one), and i did the same at 7ish. When i got back at 11:30pm i realized what i did and took both out. It didn't look terrible and i dont feel any different, but now im concerned about tss. I have had a cold/flu since before i even got my period, i left one in for 14+ hours, and ive been using super and superplus tampons. How can i differentiate between the symptoms, any help is appreciated. thank you.i also have a sunburn, so the whole rash symptom would be hard to recognize.

Update:

***i've had my sunburn (from the competition) for days, it's not new, but no rash..

The only way to differentiate at this point would be to get checked for TSS, you've definitely put yourself at risk, stop using them and get checked. There are safer alternatives I think you should consider, the best in your situation I think would be a menstrual cup which can be worn up to 12 hours safely, and you only need one so no accidentally doubling up on those.
