Gears of War 3 Problem?

So I was playing it earlier this morning before I had to leave. Well I'm home now, but I have a problem. It starts up fine, but I have the problem with the press start menu. Every time I press start it loads all of my content and stuff, but stays on the downloading content portion and never goes past the main menu. It's never done this before so I don't see what happened, considering it worked fine earlier. I tried restarting my Xbox and deleting the cache from my hard drive, but it's with no luck. I searched up similar problems saying to delete your player data, which I don't want to do. I know it doesn't delete your rank (I think?), but I have the onyx gnasher medal and don't know if it'll get rid of the onyx skin for my gnasher it not if I do delete my player data. I'd appreciate any help with this at all. Thanks!
