Why do women seem to have more problems with their genitals than men do?

Women seem to have more medical problems with their genitals than men. For example, women seem to get yeast infections exponentially more often than men do. I was just wondering if this is actually true and, if it is, if there is a reason for it.

Also, can someone explain why women are way more likely to go to a gynecologist than men are to go see an andrologist?

Thanks in advance.

Well in reference to the Yeast Infections (along with UTI's) it's all due to the female anatomy. The Ph balance of the female vagina is a tricky thing and it can be tipped in one direction quite easily actually...too many douches, different medications, different soaps/bodywashes. All those can change the Ph balance of a woman's vagina. Men don't really have that issue, even though they do get them occasionally, it's much less often. Same goes for UTI's. Because of the urtetha lenghth's and proximities being different in women and men, women get UTI's much more often. And then the most basic fact that all gynecologist use...women's genitals are "closed", men's are "open". That in itself creates a more complex situation and opportunity for problems.

As for why women are more like to go to the ob/gyn versus men to andrologist. That just goes to the simple facts of men always being more closed off and private with their genitals. Most men would rather have a root canal than go for a prostate exam. It's a very private thing for them. Women just tend to SHARE. We talk about our periods, our sex lives, when we have freakin breast tenderness, what condoms we use, what birth control we're on, what brand of tampons/pads we use. We talk about this stuff with our girlfriends, moms, female cousins, etc. So we talk to each other when we feel something is wrong or off down there. We encourage each other to go to the doctor. Men SOMETIMES do this, but most just keep it to themselves. As if they admit to it "burning when they pee" means they are less of a man. Men just don't share those things alot, until it gets REALLY bad or they are REALLY REALLY worried. Then they reluctantly drag themselves off to the doctors.
