Started looking into hot snakes...Any recommendations?

Can you guys recommend a good beginner hot snake? I've been told pit vipers and false water cobras are good starter snakes. There's a herp shop something like 15 minutes from my home that sells horned vipers. Would it be a good idea to buy one of those?

Update:

It won't be my first snake :P I said I started looking into hot snakes. Who in their right mind would try keeping hot snakes before having any experience with non-venomous ones?

mmmm this is a tricky one. Horned vipers would be a good idea if you know a hospital nearby that has the antivenin. I'm assuming if the herp shop sells them, there must be some place nearby with the correct antivenin. If not, find some common venomous snakes around your area. If they're common in your area, a hospital nearby would most definitely have the antivenin for that snake. The last thing you want is to get bit and be sent to a death sentence because you can't get the antivenin! I personally like king cobras because they have such interesting personalities :) .
