    Where in Upper Manhattan?

Anyway you have a couple of options both of which require that you be in the Penn Station area (33rd St & 7th Av). You will probably be taking the subway from wherever you are in Upper Manhattan to NY Penn (34th St-Penn Station on the 1, 2, 3, A, C subway lines).

    1) From NY Penn Station - take NJ Transit - either a NE Corridor line train or a NJ Coast line train to Newark Penn Station - Fare $5.00

    2) Near Penn Station (1 Block away) - 32nd St & 6th Av - take a PATH Journal Square train to Journal Square and then go across the platform for a Newark train to Newark Penn Station - Fare $2.50

Hi Daniel. Yes, you have a number of options, the best known probably being the PATH train, which operates around the clock. From 33rd Street Station, go to Grove Street Station in Jersey City, and then transfer to the Newark-bound train. http://www.panynj.gov/path/maps.html
