uk insects: please identify this giant grass hopper?

hello,
i found a giant grass hopper today,
it was about 3-4 inches
I found it in a wild flower meadow in totness.
Any ideas?
i thought that too but it just isnt..... but it was as big as my hand lol it could barely fly and when it did it was like a small bird! any other ideas? it was bright green with real long antennae.

It sounds like a large marsh grasshopper (Stethophyma grossum), which is usually found in marshes, grassland and heaths. However, they are very, very rare indeed and are only found in Dorset (as far as I am aware).
