Urgent! MacBook Pro what are the best settings to buy (no retina!)?

So I have around 1700 to buy a MacBook Pro (am not buying a pc)

1. What is the best set up for a 13 or 15 inch pro?

I'll be using my pro for college, photography, music, youtube (In that order) I plan on buying an external hard drive at some point later on. It would be big plus to try out gaming on the Pro nothing extreme just a few minutes to an hour or so.

2. What games would be better for the pro?

Update:

You need to answer my question to get best answer not a ref.

Update 2:

I have an ordinary iMac from 08, it still works! My brother bought a Walmart pc two weeks ago blue screen within the first week!

A MacBook Pro is a great laptop for college and I highly agree with your decision. Within your budget though, I suggest getting the $1,500 13" MacBook Pro because its easy to carry around and is fast and will last you throughout college! Plus you save yourself a couple hundred dollars over the 15".

Civ 5, Roller coaster Tycoon 3, and Surgeon Simulator are great games. Also, although Pages and numbers are available through the app store, I don't suggest them. I would suggest use the money you saved from buying the 13" on the Microsoft Package for Mac because it is completely compatible and the apps are obviously useful in college.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A MAC!

i CANNOT stress that enough. they are TERRIBLE. a $2000 mac has the performance and quality of a $300 PC.
