So everything that you're doing on the internet is being stored by the NSA?

We were told it was just metadata they were collecting... score another 1 for the tin hat people. James Clapper flat out lied to everyone. (No surprise there...)

"Using NSA PowerPoint presentations provided by whistleblower and former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, Greenwald explained: “One presentation claims the [XKeyscore] program covers ‘nearly everything a typical user does on the internet,’ including the content of emails, websites visited and searches, as well as their metadata.” Greenwald added: “Analysts can also use XKeyscore and other NSA systems to obtain ongoing ‘real-time’ interception of an individual's internet activity.”

"Greenwald also explained: “An NSA tool called DNI Presenter, used to read the content of stored emails, also enables an analyst using XKeyscore to read the content of Facebook chats or private messages. Analysts can also search by name, telephone number, IP address, keywords, the language in which the internet activity was conducted or the type of browser used.”

Where do we Americans draw the line? Does this not outrage you, regardless of party? What happened to privacy??? The 4th amendment?? It's been 1 consecutive lie after another! This could have serious implications on free speech, especially if you're not a threatening person. Could you imagine the false positive approach if someone scored high enough on their radar? It could be downright terrifying!

Update:

@LiberalsRDumb: I agree. We need to look past party lines and come to a serious agreement on this. It's absolutely ridiculous

Update 2:

@Juror #20: Lol. Right on brother. I'm with you

Update 3:

@LiberalsRDumb: People really are just sheep. The MSM really doesn't help. We need real journalism, and real information to be told. This kind of action cannot be tolerated.

Update 4:

@Cosmic: All data is scored, based on certain words, phrases, launguages, location, etc. So if you happen to be talking about nukes, or otherwise, you will receive a score. If you score high enough, your information will be looked into. God only knows what the next step is, if they deem you a threat.

Status-quo syndrome. People imagine that it's something that is happening far away; far away in a far away place and life goes on as normal. What they can't understand is that their lives, their way of thinking, their basic core values are being reshaped to suit the State.

20 years ago to be on the "watch list" you had to be involved with extremists and have some kind of record or run-in with the police. Now anybody involved in anything that is anti-establishment is on the list; and if you are on the list, you ARE being watched; 20 years it was a practical impossibility to keep tabs on so many people in any kind of meaningful way but now the technology exists to automate the process of monitoring and flag up "suspicious activity" with minimal use of manpower.

Increasingly, without even realizing it, people are conforming to the official doctrine of "acceptable" lifestyle and behavior as handed down by the Government, through the media. Without secrecy and privacy, the private individual is vulnerable to the power of the State.

We've got the internet, and I can write things like this, so I guess we still have some freedoms, but the security agencies are working hard to dilute free speech and free thought.

Obviously we are being lied to about what is being collected, via the yahoo link on my question. I think it is nuts that people are okay with this. Almost makes you want to get a large group of people together who would google these things just to see if anyone would show up, or if these people were on a list for some other reason. Plus you could see them scatter like roaches when a TON of people do it all at the same time. ( I didn't say that)
