Employment question ? Please help?
I'm 19 years old and I live in Las Vegas. I currently have a job in retail and though I am very grateful for it I need another job as soon as possible. I have a baby girl on the way and I am attending school that is on the opposite side of town that I live in. The job I have is minimum wage and part time so I don't make very much and clearly not enough to raise a child until I graduate in three ad a half years.
My question is what jobs can I get with customer service experience and little experience in any other fields that pay more than minimum wage. I know the first thing you think of when you hear Las Vegas is casinos but most of the higher paying jobs are for people aged 21 years and older.
For people that do live in Las Vegas , are there any places hiring full time , or that pay more than minimum wage that you know of? Any suggestions help. Please don't be rude.

At your age and with your (lack of) qualifications, I'm afraid a minimum wage job is all you will get.
The only way out for you is to work multiple (minimum wage) jobs so you can make ends meet.
Do you qualify for any social support, given your situation?
Vegas has lots of hotels too. You could try to find some night clerk's job in one of them, to supplement your income.
It will be difficult but stay brave. Wish you the best!

Any job you get will have some aspect of customer service. All customer service means that you are focused on doing a job well done for someone else whether they are an employee from the same company or a customer on the outside.
It's not clear by your question whether you are looking for a second job or just a job with more money. You also don't mention what you are going to school for. You may want to try to find an entry level position within a company that has the type of job you ultimately would like. Here are some ideas:
- Call center
- receptionist
- Appointment Setter for a doctor's office
- Time share representative
- Car Sales Person
- Avon or other similar company
For more jobs try looking on Monster, Indeed, Snag a Job, etc. There are also postings in the Las Vegas Review Journal. You can also try to use one of the temporary placement agencies for a job. Sometimes those turn into a full time permanent position.
Additionally you can start your own call center business. I did this through Arise. There are some start up costs like a background check and company filing with the state. Once I did all that I was able to work at home. The pay isn't much. It came to about $12k in one year, but it evened out not having to pay for gas or lunches.
There are resources, though, that you can use both now and after you baby is born to get by.
