Facebook showed up as "facebook.gm" on my Mac, is this a virus/malware?

And besides, virus's dont effect hardware(your battery) it has nothing to do with that. If its running slow try reinstalling your OS. The chances of a virus on your mac are already slim to none. Hardly anybody makes virus's for macs because they are very underrepresented in the computer world. No reason to make a virus for the 20%

.gr is a Top Level Domain meaning whenever you connect to a website with .uk or .au after it that's the nation its hosted in .gr is the domain of Greece

if you are currently in Greece you are fine, but if you are not i would suggest downloading a different browser just to see if you are still getting redirected. if yes then check www.ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/ if the results from this website match your current location you do in fact have a virus/malicious program if they do no match however you are using a proxy/vpn which unless you setup would be cause for alarm if this is the case you will need to do a system restore (or time wind thingy i don't know mac's all that well but i know you have something that does the windows equivalent)

I would untill you have this problem resolved advise you NOT TO LOG INTO FACEBOOK or any other services (which sadly includes yahoo/gmail/ebay/creditcards)

I did... yet i stumble on a similar complications in it as Miami Ink.
