Since magicians actually do illusions rather than actual magic, why are they still called magicians?

i guess it's because of the saying a magician never reveals his . i assume illusionists do reveal theirs. either way they are all illusionists no such thing as magic just illusions and science. LOTS of magicians and illusionists use science when performing tricks just to fool spectators for example this one guy made people believe they can knock down a bunch of trash cans by shouting but really in the distant corner of the building their was this HUGE machine all it does it throws out a big blast of air and knocks it down.

Some of them are called illusionists. Also, many illusionists would prefer you think of them as magicians because it's a distraction from the idea that they are actually presenting illusions.

You can call them illusionists. But I think it detracts from the magic of the show.

The term "magician" is just another illusion.

Bc kids believe in magic tricks and dont see them as illusion until they get older.
