Email set up/domain.. please help!?

So I have an email address come through on a domain I purchased through 1&1.co.uk, my ex had set it up so I'd log onto Microsoft exchange to get my emails. I'd have 2 email address all come through to the same inbox. However we split up and as from last week I can no longer get onto his server to get my emails. I need to somehow move my emails off his server but I need to retrieve all of my old emails too. The other problem is, the second email address that came into the inbox was an email address off of his domain name.

I have no idea what I'm doing or how to do this, any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

if all you want to do is copy your messages the easiest is to just get a gmail account, as long as you can still log into his server to recover your emails.

Setup a new gmail, in the settings you can see pop3/imap settings, add your old email to this and authorise it. It will then copy all the messages over to gmail. You can then remove the details from gmail and just use that.
