My Sims and EP Livin it Large wont work?

I know it can work on my laptop because it used to work but when i went to play it it wouldnt load past the splash screen after i clicked on play.

I uninstalled everything and then reinstalled it... the main game first and the EP second but it just wont work.

    the expansion pack isint compatible with your pc
