What di Muslims think of a letter sent by Prophet Muhammad to the Christians?
In 628 C.E. Prophet Muhammad (s) granted a Charter of Privileges to the monks of St. Catherine Monastery in Mt. Sinai:
'This is a message from Muhammad, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them.
No compulsion is to be on them.
Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries.
No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses.
Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.
No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight.
The Muslims are to fight for them.
If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray.
Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants.
No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world).

Meaningless as Muslims have in practice ignored it throughout history. They have stolen Christian churches, prevented Christians from repairing them, interfered in their affairs, removed them from their jobs, destroyed their homes, forced their women to marry Muslims, prevented them from visiting their churches to pray, disrespected their churches and repeatedly done so till this very day.

The "Achtiname of Muhammad" is an obvious forgery. There is no "original" of this letter only copies of copies with the purported "hand print" of Muhammad on the copies which should be a dead give away. The document is unknown until at least the 14th century which is no doubt why Muslims throughout history have behaved as if they either had no knowledge of it, or felt perfectly free to ignore the contents. The document was no doubt a clever forgery created by the Christian monks of St Catherines themselves to ward off attacks by pillaging hordes of "peaceful" Muslim raiders. The ruse seemed to have worked as St. Catherines has survived intact all these centuries situated as it is at the crossroads of Arab expansionism.

The scholarly skepticism regarding the inauthenticity of the Achtiname continues to raise issues regarding Islamic intolerance towards Christians especially as much of what the document purports to contain as the words of Muhammad therein conflict with Sharia Law and actual Muslim practice.

Judging from the following, it would appear that Muhammed was under the impression that he was Head of a Country who exactly were HIS citizens?
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them.
No compulsion is to be on them.

I am beyond happy because I regard Christians and Jews as my brothers and sisters and I would do anything for them.

Confirms the peaceful nature of Islam. This is straight from the person non-Muslims love to vehemently insult and degrade as if there were no limits. Shame, really. May God's blessings be upon our Prophet. Salam.
