Bought a canon printer but not compatible with iMac?

I bought a canon pixma mg2220 today. I don't have a cd drive on my imac so I looked on canon's site and downloaded the programs. My os is 10.8.4 On the specs it says it supports 10.7 and under. Can I use a usb cable to hook up my printer? Why does it say I can download if I have moutain lion but the specs say 10.7 and under only?

It is entirely up to Canon to make the driver software. No one else makes it. Send email to them and hound them each week to get working on it.

    EDIT :

Oh, hey, I hate to disagree with you, but I went to the link you gave and clicked "Drivers & Software" and BINGO! There is the "Mountain Lion" driver. Go back there and try again. You will SUCCEED!!! (P.S.: My link below is better than your link, because it includes my clicking on "Drivers & Software". TRY IT!!!

It's historic however I've had older. You may also now not have enough RAM or your CPU is also a bit too sluggish, exceptionally in case you are making an attempt to make use of applications way too robust for it. I suggest a brand new anti-virus. The turning off via itself section shouldn't be a good signal though.... But as for the sluggish programs and freezing that is RAM and CPU (more commonly viruses as well). If you're trying to run more recent program, your CPU you will have to be as a minimum roughly 2.0GHZ and also you will have to particularly have 1GB RAM. Possibly time to get a brand new computer....

    Go here: http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/printe...

One the first drop down choose Mac OS

Then on the second drop down choose OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

It will then let you download the driver.
