Do young girls date their own age group?

I'm an 18 year old guy, and seemingly all girls my age want to date guys who are like 23 n shiet. I find it hard to find a girlfriend, and I don't want to date girls too young, 16 is my limit(yes it's legal in Canada, I can go all the way to 14 but that is super weird) and they are just soo full of drama at that age. I never understood the correlation of maturity and women, women are not more mature than men, they're just more serious and less humorous. I believe this is just some bs excuse for girls to date older guys, because older guys have more money, they can bring they on more dates, have nice cars, buy her expensive stuff, etc. And all of that seems *zomg awesome* at the age for girls, since we don't have all that while us guys are in college (so are girls). I remember when I was 14, I wanted to date girls my age but they only wanted to date 16 year old guys. When I turned 17, I got all the 16 year olds, but I just want someone my age honestly. How many of you would be ready to date someone your age, or how young would you go?
