Horse section: please....?
I don't normally do this but one of our own, Jeff Sadler, has had the absolute worst luck this month and I would like everyone to keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers (or whatever your religion or non religion calls for). Earlier this month he lost 3 4 year old horses to lightning, horses he was going to sell to buy winter hay for the rest and food for his family. Also I just received word he is being rushed to the hospital (the major city one near him from the small local doctor) after a riding accident with a lacerated liver. As horsemen and women its important to stick together and look out for our own, so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and please ride safe.
And to make this legit as a question: what is the worst riding accident you have had?
joanne- yes it is the same Jeff. His wife said he is in doing ok right now but has 3 broken ribs and a lacerated liver. He was riding bareback, lost balance and fell under the horse.

Emura....do you mean the Jeff Sadler who frequently posts on this site?
I have lost horses and it is beyond devastating. It also says that Jeff is in hospital. I hope he is ok and doing well. My finances are not doing well but I have never turned down a fellow horseman in need.

Add:It is our fair week so I am getting up very early and trying to hit all the people there for some help in funding but where do I go from there to get the money for him. I have already
cancelled a trail ride and have that $200 to send. Can you help me. I don't have pay pal or any of that stuff but can send certified check in American money but I don't know where to send it. That is just mine and a few days I hope to have around a thousand dollars.

PS to your to your legit question..I broke my leg in five places and had a complete ACL tear-one if which was fixed as two orthopedists said I wouldn't walk soon. That was four years ago I still walk and ride my horse!

I'll pray for him, I lost one of my show horses to colic last year who I had planned on selling this Summer after he did some more shows.
The worst accident I ever had was a rotational fall while running an xc course. My knee/lower leg were completely shattered. It took over a year of ops/physio before I could start riding again.

Better yet.. there's a way we can post a fund thru Paypal that allows folks to make donations on his behalf. Let me research that and see how far I get..
