HD tablet how much gigabytes does it use?

When watching a video on an HD tablet for an hour, how many Gigabyte's are used? If the video was not in HD, how many Gigabytes are used? Apps on the tablet do they use data? Or do they use data only when the app itself is used?

A full length HD movie will be around 5GB. A standard movie will be between 2 or 3GB depending on the compression used. Apps only using up your data allocation if they are running and talking to something over the network, such as a server or database, but this is usually a tiny amount and would not have much affect on your data usage.
