Do I have to lose all my teeth before getting braces?
I have about 5 baby teeth left ( I lose teeth very slowly) Anyways, so I went to 2 orthodontists. The first one said that when I bite down, my teeth line up when they're not supposed to, so I need braces. But she said she wanted to wait until I lose all my baby teeth. The second orthodontist said I had an ectopic tooth that hasn't come in yet, but if it does, it will mess up my other teeth. He said he doesn't want to wait until I lose all my teeth. He wants me to get braces as soon as possible. He also addressed the bite issue. So should I wait to get my braces, or get them now?

You do not have to lose all your baby teeth before getting braces.
Orthodontists often put braces on patients who still have baby teeth. They don't put braces on the baby teeth, but they can start treatment by putting braces on the adult that are present.

Yes you need to loose all of your baby teeth before you get braces. Then your adult teeth have to grow in. I had to have mine pulled out before I got my braces put on. If you don't loose your baby teeth before when you do loose them your teeth will just be hanging by the brace and your adult tooth can't grow in. And when it does it could grow in wrong and you will have to have braces all over again.
