how can i get more organized?

So school is starting soon and I would like to get more organized. My room is a mess and i would like to have it more organized. My room is small and has a full size bed, a dresser, a desk with a desk top computer, a small book shelf, two closets, and a movable shelf unit. I am in 8th grade and can't spend too much money on stuff to organize my room. I have a bunch of stuffed animals and small toys from when i was younger and a bunch of clothes. I would like to get more organized so I can concentrate on my school work. So my question is How can i get more organized?

any advise will be useful

Do you use the desktop computer? If not, or if there's another place to move it, get rid of it. Clear off the desk you have and stock it with pens, pencils, and paper, maybe a calender or a few pictures and use that as a school desk. I put a few candles on mine, too. They help relax me when I do school work!

CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSETS. Clean the rest of your room first, and then go through all of your clothes. If you haven't worn it in a few months (say 3 months), dump it/donate it/sell it. It's really helpful to get rid of clothes you don't want or need. The less you have, the less ends up on your floor.

Start in one corner and work your way out. Move your furniture around if you'd like a change of scenery. Get rid of the stuffed animals and small toys. If you don't want to toss them, get a few bins from target and put them in the basement.

This seems weird, but I hung a few movie posters before by just pinning them into the wall. Now they're mounted in frames and it just looks much nicer. If you have loose things hanging on the walls, it's so much cleaner looking if you get rid of them. If you have clippings from magazines or newspapers, if you have pictures, you don't have to throw them out. Just store them in a binder!

Let things go. Throw things out. It's liberating!

Firstly go through everything you have stored in your room and make three piles. One keep pile for things you still want, a charity pile for things you can give away and a chuck pile for things that you don't want and are too worn out to give away. Put all the stuff in the chuck pile in a big bag and put that in the bin. With the charity pile you can then decide what you are going to do with it. You could sell it, send it to a second hand shop, give it to relatives or friends that you think would like it or donate things to a hospital or such. Put all this in a bag and move it somewhere out of the way. Lay the keep pile out on your bed and decide where you want to put everything. Make a pile for things you want in the dresser and closets, another for things you want in the book shelf, another for things on the shelves and another for things you want on the desk. Then you can simply put things away in their place. If you have things left over then you can get some storage boxes (You should be able to pick these up cheaply in a lot of places) and then put everything in them. You could get some labels for them as well. If you have boxes full of things that you don't use then put them up somewhere were they will be out of the way, such as on top of a tall bit of furniture.

Well the first thing I would do is go through your room and make piles of stuff to throw away and stuff to give away. No point in organizing stuff you don't like/want/use. Go through your clothes and throw/give away stuff that doesn't fit, has holes/stains, or you just don't like. My rule of thumb is if I haven't worn it this year it goes. Do the same stuff with your books and knick knacks.

Then I would organize your clothes- each dresser drawer hold something- one drawer has underwear, one drawer has t-shirts, one drawer has pjs, and one drawer has accessories (belts, scarves, tights)- or whatever you want it to be.

I would make one closest a clothes closest- I organize by type of clothing and then by color. So I have button down shirts all together and then like colors of button shirts together. If you have a lot of shoes get an over the door shoe rack. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Whitmor-24-Pocket-Over-t...

As far as your desk goes- get some desk organizers to hold pens, pencils, highlighters, stapler, tape, scissors- something like this: http://www.staples.com/Plastic-Desktop-Organizers/...

Then get a file organizer so you have somewhere to keep old papers/tests. I always have a calendar on my desk so I can see upcoming stuff

You can use your bookshelf to display things as well- my bookshelf has candles, cute figurines, and even my jewelry box in addition to books.

For your second closet get a bunch of cute bins( something like this and store like things together)

Then each night pick up your room before you go to bed so things won't get bad
