Did Nadal try to hit Djokovic on purpose in their semifinal in Montreal?

Nadal hitting Djokovic was the best play possible. I didn't see any foul play in that shot. Novak is a professional tennis player and fully knows that he is a target when he goes up there.

I would be upset too if I got hit in the face, but Novak could have handled the situation better.

No, it was just an accident. If you look at the play, you can tell Nadal didn't have much of a choice. If he loosened up on the play he could of very well lost the point by accidentally hitting out wide to avoid hitting Novak. It was the right play.

Novak could of reacted better. Just suck it up and take the apology. Some kids can take hits better than him. I got hit in the face when I went for a volley but I quickly went back to playing, I accidentally hit my friend with a slam (the situation sounds bad but it was my only choice, I did try and lessen the power to avoid hurting him too much). He was perfectly fine and accepted my apology and kept playing like it never happened.

Sometimes things happen. If he kept playing and ignored it, his emotions wouldn't of taken over and he could of won those points he lost in that set. As for in the tiebreaker, if Novak challenged the call at 5-1, he could of possibly won (though kind of unlikely but who knows?) but it seemed like he kind of given up on that point.

As harsh as it may sound, that's the best option. If someone is continually coming to the net and keeping you on the defensive and dominating you, hitting them with the ball is going to make them reluctant to try again. Ivan Lendl made a career out of pure power and intimidation on the court. I doubt Nadal tried to hit Djokovic on purpose but he should, as should Djokovic if Nadal comes to net.

im so happy that Djokovic got here out the winner, & no longer Soderling. :P & Rafa taking Tsonga out in today gadgets replaced into tremendously astonishing, :D till now Rafa took out Tsonga, i'd have reported hands down Djokovic would be the winner. :D yet now it may circulate the two way. :P -I nevertheless think of/wish that Novak would be effective in the two the SF & optimistically the finals to win back to back titles. :) Djokovic winner; 7-6 (4) 7-5 :)
