Cake Decorators out there?
I've been asked to make a "Candy Crush" cake for someones birthday in September. I work with butter cream icing. I'm working on getting all of the different candies that are on the different levels, all of a sudden a thought popped into my head. How am I going to prevent the candy colors from running into the icing during transport and before serving? Any suggestions?

If possible, have the candies ready and add them as late as possible in the process. I didn't know what candy Crush was, so I did a quick search for Candy Crush cake. some of what came up showed cakes where the decorator had made the candies out of colored fondant or gum paste. That's also an option. Those colors run much less than prepared candies' colors would.

make a plain white cake, layer it 3 layers deep with frosting between layers, frost it then toss a bunch of candy on it! NOW comes the hard for you to do part! Slam your hand down flat right on top of the cake and toss a clean dead mouse in the middle!!
use butter cream or 7-Minute icing and quickly sprinkle the candy on it. They should not melt but if they do, oh well, Candy Crush is having one of its fits and melt downs!!
Damn I hate that game!!
