If you are running aSSD for example and want to save on space especially smaller sizes then its recommended that you do not install on C Drive except for critical software eg. antivirus. Another rule of thumb is always leave a few GB on the C drive at least a quarter of the space free so windows can run smoothly for stuff like page swapping.
I install all my Games on other drives that are not the C drive as they are very large and the other drives are like 2 Terabites (lol) the trick to installing on a non C drive is to go to the drive and create a folder for each program you want to install at the root of the drive. Don't make it the exact name of the program as their might be conflict and when installing in the installer just specify the location you want it to install i.e the folder you created and do so.

Are your C: and D: volumes on the same hard drive? It probably won't affect performance either way. Your D: volume might even be on a slower part of the hard drive, and simultaneous access between C: and D: can slow down regular hard disk drives.
You should keep your programs on the same volume as your operating system, unless you have a faster disk you'd like to use (such as an SSD), or you are using portable software that doesn't need to be installed to the operating system. If you are running short on space in C:, you should consider cloning to a larger drive.
It is a better idea to use other drives for your personal files.

you should never ever install any software in which your operating system is installed unless its nessasary to do so... Reasons behind this is this may affect the speed of your pc as operating systems require free spaces to run properly moreover if there is a virus in your software it will corroupt your operating system.. So install your extra stuffs on d or any other harddrive except c drive.... If you like pleaseeee vote it as best answer

there are countless issues why a computing device unexpectedly restarts regardless of the undeniable fact that the most elementary issues are by using: a million. hardware - overheating, issue instruments, corrupt drivers, and so on.. 2. software - corrupted operating platforms, corrupted device documents, and so on..
