how does dish TV Hopper work?
If I understand it correctly, the DVR records all the primetime hours of 4 over the air networks. Now does it actually not record the commercials, or do you just fast forward through them?
I am aware that Dish has a website. It says: With the Hopper's® exclusive feature, PrimeTime Anytime™, three hours of primetime programming are available to you for up to 8 days from initial air date. Plus you can save your favorite primetime content forever. You can also "instantly skip" commercials in primetime TV on ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. It is not clear what "instantly skip" means, I didn't know if it just meant that you could fast forward through them.

Hi Paco, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. It is my pleasure to assist you today and provide you the information you need. One of the coolest features of our Hopper or Hopper w/ Sling is PrimeTime Anytime. PrimeTime Anytime allows you to record all shows airing in the primetime hours on ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC.
What's even better is that your Hopper or Hopper w/ Sling will automatically skip commercials with the AutoHop feature for any PrimeTime Anytime event that you watch 24 hours after it is recorded. When you select the program you want to watch, you will see a pop up that will give you the option to automatically skip commercials.

I'm not sure how it works, but it works great, automatically. But only available for prime time recordings after 24 hrs. The 24 hr after recording leads me to believe that someone at dish has to set the skip forward amount or is an agreement with the networks.
Either way, with or without hopper available, you can always manually skip forward at 30 second per button push of the skip forward button on the remote for any prerecorded event.

You have to fast forward through them on the recording.
