Why is the category Rock & Pop?

It actually makes sense.

the line between Rock and Pop can often be a grey one.

It's just simpler this way :/

If you split it up, you'd have bands like the ones Meat Train mentioned falling under both categories, and users would have to constantly bounce between categories, or be confused which category to place their question in.

Rock has been dying and is being replaced by pop music. There are songs out there that are POP but since there's an electric guitar in it, then people consider it Rock. But in the words of Marilyn Manson "Rock, it's not about how it sounds, it's about making music with your d**k."

Because Yahoo Answers doesn't get that rock and pop are DIFFERENT things, though the two can be blurred together at some times. But yeah, I totally get you man, it frustrates me when I can't find any metal questions in between the One Direction and Justin Bieber crap.
