Egypt has control over the Suez Canal... one of the most important shipping lanes in the world.

The USA isn't getting involved because who would they fight? The Muslim Brotherhood? That'll create all out terror across the world. Would they fight the well financed and powerful Egyptian military? No.

    Stupid question.

They said on the news last night that the US pays the Egyptian military $1.5 Billion a year (and has been for years). That must pay for an awful lot of their kit. Just because the US isn't on the ground doesn't mean it isn't involved. Comes with being a superpower.

However it seems eminently sensible for the US not to be involved on the ground.

When the Egyptian people rose up against the US progressivists totalitarian democratically appointed pocket dictator (Morsi) and kicked him to the the curb, the US progressivists stuck their heads in the sand like they always do. Now the progressivists want Morsi released so he can run again, but they say they don't support Morsi. Totalitarianism only works if the people ignorantly go along with it, like in the US.

No Oil? No USA. We just want resources, don't really give a damn about Egypt unless they help us fight Iran in the future.
