Idea 3G netsetter diconnects very often and only displays 2g network?
I recently purchased an Idea 3g dongle for my girlfriend, it did connect fine at the first go, but kept disconnecting after every 2 minutes. i bought her a photon, which works like a charm. i connected the Idea dongle to my PC at my house, it did work fine for a couple of days but then it started disconnecting itself over and over again.
i recharged it again yesterday, and now it only displays a 2g network and webpages take forever to load. I did use the dongle on 3g for a week at home before, so no arguments about the footprint.
and Idea guys, if you reply onto this question, please note that you have caused me a lot of embarrassment and money, so please let me know EXACTLY how to correct your stupid mistake.

Issue as you describe, frequent network disconnecting. Check the signal strength of 3G network and 2G network in your area. When the software detects no network it will switch from 2G to 3G. This can happen other way around when working on 2G network if it detects 3G network it will switch. When the switching happens the threads trying to connect to internet will get stuck making your internet connection work slow.
Possible workarounds which might help you,
1. Try setting the dongle to use only 2G or 3G network. Depending on the signal strength.
2. Whenever the page is not loading even if the network signal is good. Try disconnecting wait for few seconds and connect back it will work fine.
3. Avoid dongle from being over heated. Keep the netsetter in a better place where it can get good signal strength and where the air flow is good to keep the dongle cool.
4. And see if you can unlock the modem so that you can use the same dongle on other networks. Please do this at your own risk as this is not recommended.

hey pal change the settings into only umts/hspa it defines that the sim be used for only 3g and if u keep it in gprs it can be used only for 2g
so i think the prob occurs for u because u choosed that u want to use any 2g or 3g netwrk so wen ever ur sim cannot find a 3g netwrk it is simply connecting to 2g so i prefer u to hit on 3g netwrk always ie hspa/umts

IDEA !!! and do you know idea is the only network in india which provides best of the best customer care services, you just contact them, they will get in touch with you in a second, you need not wait in a que like vodafone airtel, just contact them then your query will be solved in a second Get idea sir ji (but you already have it)
