I use both. On my old Gibson LP 1963, I used DiMarzio because they have a dirty raw sound when you crank them up. But, they have a super clean smooth sound when the volume is halfway.

Seymour is great and there pickups have a good clean sound but the output of any DiMarzio is stronger.

In a Les Paul, the 59 will sound muddy and cannot compare to a Super DiMarzio or whatever. So if you have a LP, go for DiMarzio. You can't go wrong.

DO NOTE that the 36th anniversary is better at the bridge position than the neck by a long stretch.

It's all personal preference.I like Seymour Duncan pickups in general and have a set of Pearly Gates pickups in a Les Paul.I just happened to like the sound. But better or worse?Listen to both of your choices - and decide which you like of the two. That would be the better of the two for you.
