What's the best free antivirus with no system slowdown?

Do not get Microsoft security essentials it's just doesn't offer good enough protection and I wish people would not recommend it.When it starts to perform like it use to 2 years ago, then it could be recommend again. The lightest running free antivirus software is Avast none of the other ones are even close and it has a very good detection and more importantly it's great at blocking malware that trys to get on a computer.

IF you have a legal copy of windows then download Microsoft Security Essentials directly from Microsoft it is totally free and the overheads are better than many paid for packages.

I recommend Microsoft security essentials(MSE). Its 100% free and it solves all my virus problems. And i think norton is not free. Windows Defender is fine but MSE is better than Windows def. As long as u dont f*** ur computer up with spyware and viruses, MSE would do fine

avast by far...cheers..ps it also has a boot time scan and an app for your cell phone and it's free..superior to alot of other anti virus programs..cheers
