Sometimes. I have to remind myself that they were raised differently. My brother and I were raised not to waste food.

I think this is why at parties buffet style is the best because people can take the portions they want. When you have someone serve it to you then you might not be able to eat all that they have served and be embarrassed if you don't want to eat a particular item that was served. There was an article in the paper the other day about how the US (probably Canada is the same too) wastes billions of pounds of food and it is bad to have in the landfill because it lets off gasses. It would be good if local farming would come back then people could donate any food waste to the pigs, chickens etc and the animals would be treated better and this could eliminate it from the landfill. So it does bother me but I have done it myself - sometimes I try and doggie bag it so I can feed crows and seagulls in the park.

I dislike wasting food but the only one I am responsible for is me.

When the restaurant serves such huge portions. I have the remaining food boxed to take home for lunch the next day.

If I'm not able to go straight home and don't have a way of keeping the food cold (safe) then I'm forced to leave it on my plate.

If I know the restaurant goes in for big servings, I'll ask for a child's or senior's portion so I don't waste food.

To a degree, sure. I'm conscious of those who have bare refrigerators (or are starving in the worst situations on earth), and I think about what the cook went through to prepare the food.

Slightly. I see people not eating all the meat off chicken wings and drumsticks and stuff like that and I'm just amazed as to why they'd grab another piece when they still have tons of meat left on the other one.

No. Eating more than your body needs is as wateful as throwing it away or saving the rest for later.

I always request small portions, and let other choose how much food they would like.

It depends. People in the US tend to have HUGE portions, a lot of times they are too big to finish.

I really view other people's meals as none of my business, so no, it doesn't bother me.
