I lightly slapped my boyfriend, and he slapped me back?
I know I shouldn't have hit him, but he was doing something to me that I felt was degrading, so I slapped him...if only lightly. It wasn't an open palm slap in the face, I just slapped him on the cheek with my fingers, and he returned the slap, hard and open-palmed. He was intentionally degrading me, it was just a knee-jerk reaction, and his response kind of scared me. Should I be afraid?
I can't stress enough that I know I shouldn't have slapped him. That was undoubtedly wrong, but should I consider his response a red flag?

Big red flag.
What the hell he thinks he is doing? You only slapped him in a lightly way, and he return the slap, HARD and open-palmed.
Of course you should feel scared and afraid! He is so rude! He shouldn't have slapped you like that!
Be careful okay? If he acts violently to you again, you should definitely leave him.

With all of the guys out there in the world, you should not be with on who decides to degrade and hit you. Yes you hit him first but his response was out of line. It is probably time to move on.

your slap may not have been appropriate at that time even so i dont think he should have returned it like that......if this was just a re action,i am afraid of his intentional actions
its just that i dont like the idea of hitting a girl like that unless something serious.

If you hit like a man, then evry man has a right to do self defense. But be sure to know he will stick up for himself and hit you back.
