I recovered the memory from my dead computer's hard drive, but the files all say Backup on them?

All the videos online show that when you use the USB adapter to retrieve the files, they look just like they did when they were on the computer. (little file folders..like Pictures, Ebooks, etc) When I did it, mine said Backup 1, Backup 2..etc.. and they were extractable files..not folders. I am looking for my iTunes library, and I can't find it. Does anyone know how to find it in these files? Also, it is a 360 GB HD.. but it is only showing 18 or so GB of files. Any ideas? If I reformat it.. will I get the 360 GB to use as storage? Thanks!!

Update:

American Pride. ..Those are the only files it shows when I access it. Any ideas how to get to the main files?

Check My Computer to see if there is another drive letter E: or F: that might contain the files you are looking for.

Also go to Start and type in Disk Management and hit enter. Look at the graph at the bottom to find your 360gb HD. Does it show two partitions, one for backup and one that was your old OS? Is the larger one where your OS was labeled as NTFS and does it show a drive letter?

What you have accessed is your backup files from your old computer not the main drive with all of your music, pictures, documents and all the rest.

They may have been corrupted and not there anymore. If the drive is not showing up I don't know what to tell you, I am sorry. Maybe someone else will answer and be able to solve your problem.
