so what's wrong with my speedometer?

i was on 5th gear....going like 36...

down shifted to 3..... then accelerated to about 5th RPM...amd accidently shifted to 2nd gear when i tried to go to 4th....

i immediately put it on neutral, but my speed meter went crazy and eventually just stopped working...

what exactly do i need to fix....and how much would it cost?

    You either broke the speedometer cable or cracked the gear at the transmission end.
