I want to learn electric guitar so I need to buy my first one.?

What's the difference between a cheap and an expensive one (apart for the price)? Do I just going into a second-hand shop and pick whatever? Advise please.

There is a difference between cheap and expensive guitars

Cheaper the guitar, the less "Well-made" it will be, and you may have more issues with it, it is also highly likely to not sound as nice as a decent guitar.

However, I would STRONGLY suggest you do not buy a very expensive guitar to begin with, because there is a chance you will not stick with the guitar and it will end up being a waste of money.

    My advice

Don't buy the cheapest guitar you can, look to spend at least 100-200 pounds (or whatever the equivalent in the currency you use).

Also, when it comes to cheaper guitars, buy it for the quality and it's sound, NOT how it looks, one of my first guitars I picked because it looked awesome, but it is dreadful, it does not keep its tuning and in general is a waste of money.

Finally, when it comes to buying a guitar, try out loads of guitar's in the shop, see what one sounds the nicest, is the most comfortable to play, and if it is "sturdy" enough. You will be able to tell if it is going to fall apart.

Good luck, keep at it, I hope it goes well for you bro

First, while you get what you pay for you don't need a $1,000 guitar.

The type of music you play, the size of your hands, and how much weight you want to carry on you shoulders are just some of the factors you need to consider.

A Mexican Fender is a good starter guitar. I really like my Schecter C-1 Elite. Schecter and Ibanez are popular brands that good guitars for the money. After you've played for a while you will start noticing the difference in sound quality and feel. You need a guitar that isn't to difficult to play notes/chords on without straining your hands to hold the strings down, without buzzing.

Nothing beats sitting down and playing and electric guitar plugged into an amp (AND Unplugged). Compare a $100, $500, and +$800 side by side so you can hear and feel the differences.

Make sure the body isn't made of laminate of composite wood. You want one made of sold pieces of wood.

If you buy a 'starter' guitar you will want to upgrade before too long.

Literally everything. From quality of the wood to updatedness of the electronics. More money sounds better but get a cheap one anyway for ur first. You'll discover the difference on the way
