The NFL says they want a larger woman fan base, but no not allow purses into a stadium. Why?

I just read an article that women were not allowed to bring their purses into the NFL pre-season games. I guess they are afraid of women smuggling bombs, booze, food and other such things into a game. What happened to looking into the purse and letting them go through? Women are having to check in their bags, waiting in line for that, and then longer lines after the game is over for the same thing. Seems really stupid to me.

Everything you mentioned. It is somewhat ironic though that none of the terrorists who have struck in this country have been women. I'm not sure exactly why women's purses are being targeted here when no women have been involved in acts of terror previously. And yeah, they do let women carry clear bags into the stadium but for some reason they still rummage through the stuff in the clear bags. My wife had to open up eyeglass cases that were in her clear bag. Can you put a bomb in an eyeglass case? I didn't think so.

Personally, I think this is more to prevent people from smuggling in food and alcohol and it doesn't hurt that women are running out and buying NFL branded clear vinyl purses. I just forked over $38 for one for my wife, along with game tickets, parking and stadium food and beverages which are the world's biggest rip off. No more NFL games for us this season unless I'm in a suite.

    Why?

Because like most professional athletic sports organizations, the NFL is run by white men with no understanding of the perspective of women. Perhaps they should hire a few assertive feminists to help them out with regard to stadium policy. Maybe they would get it right the first time.

Bad decisions are the norm for men who are separated from their own human nature. In the NFL, the average life expectancy for a player who has performed for 5 years is only 55 years of age. It's even less for linemen. It's expected that the average player will receive 1200 concussions during a season. The science shows that even minor repeated concussions can affect memory and even personality and aggressive tendencies.

If I had to carry a purse for any reason, I would not attend an NFL game. The overpaid executive group in the NFL needs to be retired in-mass and replaced with women MBAs who will make real and progressive changes to the game that will improve fan experience and minimize head trauma injuries thus saving the league inevitable winning lawsuits from player and their next of kin.

The only thing that the professional sports executives seem to do well is flap their lips.

The NFL just passed new rules on that issue to help speed up the process of entrance to games. Now you can only take in see through bags, and so if you want to take items in that you would have carried in a purse they will all be seen by everyone in the line.

Hey, that's the deal, and everyone must abide by the same rule. The option is simply stay home and watch it on TV.

Keep in mind that they are responding to what happened in the Boston Marathon bombings. The NFL has to protect itself against lawsuits in case a bombing somehow was attempted. Also, it may be due to requirements enforced on the NFL by Homeland Security. The NFL stated far beforehand that they could use clear bags. And don't forget that they have to look through 50-80 thousand bags potentially. That's a lot.

    Men have bags too,

What if a man sneaks stuff into the purses.

Although this is ridiculous in many cases,

But it will prevent many problems.

    Dead fans don't buy tickets.

Liability lawsuit claims can kill a business if they ever let a bomb into a stadium.

My wife never takes her purse to any event. She carries a small wallet with the things she needs in it, or a small clutch bag

Do women not have a right to privacy? How many women do you know would let a stranger rummage through their personal possessions? Trust me, that would go over worse than not allowing purses at all.

Larger women*, as in Chalise. The concession stands lobbied for this.
