The same thing happened to my Father when he was diagnosed with Male Breast Cancer...he refused chemo, but my Mother Made him go. After much arguing he is now a 18 YEAR Survivor and still healthier than I am. She is unwise to believe the doctor is in it just for the money, and is making excuses simply to not lose her hair (Which is the least of her worries) I don't know how much you can do to convince her that her survivor rate is excellent, some people are very stubborn. I hope you can change her mind.

Unless your mother is mentally incompetent and you are her appointe guardian or have her medical power of attorney, it is not up to you.
You could offer to go with her to the oncologist to find out the relevant treatment options together with the risks and benefits but if she has aready had this discussion and made up her mind then that is her perogative.
I have been through cancer treatment (successfully) 9 years ago. I had relatively few side effects but it was still hard. I am not sure I would put myself through that again now that my circumstances have changed (dependant daughter is now an adult).

The two of you need to sit down with the doctor who diagnosed the cancer and discuss the treatment. Not all cancer drugs cause hair loss and sickness. Her doctor should be able to tell her about the side effects of those drugs and her prognosis without them. She may fear getting sick from the drugs, but she's going to get sick anyway and die without them. Once she knows her chances of survival with and without treatment and how long the treatment will take, she may decide to go ahead with it.
