Why does my eye hurt when wearing new reading glasses?

I just got new reading glasses almost two weeks ago. First time getting reading glasses. Mostly use them for work. I do have 2 monitors at work. Today, my right eye hurt for about 30 seconds before taking my glasses off, after a few seconds, the pain went away. For several hours afterwards, I noticed a slight redness(bloodshot perhaps) around my eyes. This is the second time my eye hurt since I got them. The first time it was my left eye after getting the glasses. I just thought my eyes wasn't getting use to wearing the glasses yet. Any ideas what cause the pain? I am thinking of going back to the doctor office to have them recheck the glasses.

    Something isn't right.

Most likely, you are experiencing seasonal allergies that are coincidental to the glasses.

Yes, I know that you don't think you have allergies. Your eyes are telling another story.

Sometimes the shape of the lenses requires an extended adjustment period but it's really something you should discuss with your doc. Good luck.
