Well we have 5 guinea pigs and 4 of them will respond to their names they also respond to the word cuddles where in they will come & sit on your knee for cuddle time. They also respond to the word food & dinner with a carcophony of squeaks even when you don't have any food in your hand. Guinea pigs are part of the rodent family & all rodents are incredibly clever & will definitely learn things if they know it is going to benefit them.

Um, I don't think guinea pigs really respond to their names.... If you repeat it constantly then maybe they'll get it. I had a guinea pig for about 2 years and she never responded to her name, although she did respond to some food X)
