High school parking permit?

So I start school tomorrow and I can now drive to school. What I want to know is how long do you wait for them to give you the permit. I don't want to park my car and have it towed so do they let anyone park for free on the first day? And what are the things they ask for? Liscense plate #'s , insurance? Its a school in Texas.. thanks in advance.

You need to check with the school, there are no global rules/policies for this type of thing. If I were you I would probably not drive on the first day and risk getting ticketed or towed, go to the office and find out what you need to do. Bring all of your documentation (and payment money if they charge for a permit) so you can get it done tomorrow and then you can drive on Tuesday.

You don't WAIT for them to GIVE you a permit. You go to the school office and get one. Do it TODAY so you can have it to park legally on your first day back to school.
