MIP Infraction - no drivers licsense/identification present, not driving?

I got an MIP infraction last night in Berkeley California. I had a cup in my had on the street, stupid I know. But I was compliant with the officers. The only thing is he spelled my name wrong and also I didn't have any form of identification on me: so no drivers liscence number was taken down.

What will happen/can this infraction be dropped?

The biggest problem you are facing is that conviction of this offense carries a 1-year driver's license suspension, or a 1-year delay in getting a license if you don't have one yet. Most courts have programs available which will allow you to avoid a conviction and save your license.
