I don't need to see your videos. I know what they look like. I scratched and picked at my skin my entire life. From a child till now. ( I am 60). I would go through periods where I could stop for a while (usually in the summer when I had no choice). Being out in the sun would help too. But scars don't tan. So I have a tan,but all these little white scars that have been there for years and years. From a distance I look ok, but up close you can tell something isn't right. It goes deeper than your skin. This is a very deep, dark, hidden secret. We do very well at hiding it, don't we? I still have to put make up over ones that I am still picking at.

People just don't understand. They think it's gross. To me it's comfort. I learned it as a child. When I was upset or afraid, I picked. It felt good. I don't care what anyone says, it feels good to pick off a scab. It gives one a feeling of euphoria, kind of a comforting sting and rush that feels really awesome. But, it creates scars. So basically all my life I have had to watch what I wore as to not show my arms. My arms got it the worst. My legs look pretty good now. My back looks good too. It's just something I have been dealing with my whole life. I know exactly where you're coming from.

first off, thank you for sharing something so personal and intimate. it's very brave of you.

secondly, i'm not sure how you feel about your scars, because I know some people want to keep them, get comfort from looking at them/knowing they're there. but i want to say that there's this scar cream that has worked pretty good for me and a few people i know. it's called "Mederma Scar Therapy" And it's top notch sh*t to say the least. It's a bit expensive but it's worth it. Here's a link to the kind I have. I'm sure you can pick it up at a CVS or Rite Aid. Or just order online.

And then of course, you have the classic cover ups that i'm sure you are familiar with. (putting cover up make up on your arm, long sleeves, bracelets, etc... those only work for so long, though.)
