What influence does the per capita beer consumption have on the quality of life in countries around the world?

Depends on what you are looking at.

For example, if a country drinks a lot of beer and has a thriving beer industry, then it would have a positive affect on the quality of life, assuming responsible beer drinking.

However, if they import all their beer, have no industry to speak of and drink irresponsibly,, then it would have a negative affect.

So, beer consumption per capita alone does not give you enough information to make a sound assessment.

I'd say that extremely low consumption is a sure sign your life sucks.

If you're too poor for beer, it's likely you're also too poor for food.

While if you can buy beer, you can make the assumption you' and your family is fed.
