what is your favorite final fantasy game?

Y'know, I've always liked playing Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. I may not have always been able to understand the plot (To this day, I still can't), but the gameplay is fun, easy and fluid, casting magic spells doesn't feel annoying, and the feeling the game gives me is enough. The feeling when you beat a boss is awesome, and I've always liked how putting on armour actually changed your outfit. I'm surprised not a lot of FF fans play it.

Now everyone's entitled to their opinions. Unless they're straight up wrong like Ziggy. 4 is a TERRIBLE GAME.

My favorite is 6. Because it's THE BEST in EVERYTHING, but graphics.

The plot to 6 blows ALL the other FFs away. The music, the directing, and the whole scope of the story is just better than the rest.

The Characters are MORE Three-Dimensional in FF6 than ANY other FF. THEY ALL HAVE BACKSTORY. All of 'em. When you beat it, you see the endings FOR ALL THE CHARACTERS.

And they've even got DIFFERENT endings if you didn't re-recruit them after Kefka destroys the world.

Ah, the piece-DE-resistance, KEFKA PALAZZO. Kefka is BY FAR, THE GREATEST FF VILLAIN. He's evil for the sake of evil, and on top of that, unlike ANY OTHER FF VILLAIN, KEFKA SUCCEEDS.

The gameplay is tight, and Magicite to this day is my favorite. Materia sucked, GFs sucked WAAAAAAY HARDER THAN MATERIA. 9's system was good, as it was essentially individual magicite based of the weapon, but even then, it just wasn't as good.

Anything below here is just ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.

So, Final Fantasy X-2, 13, 13-2, 13: Lightning Returns [I know it ain't out yet, but it's gonna be terrible.]

XI and XIV don't make the cut as they're MMOs and should hardly be considered Final Fantasy.

So, either way: FF6 is my favorite FF. Now if we're goin' for favorite Square-Game... Either Chrono Trigger or Xenogears.

Final Fantasy 7

Best gameplay? I like job systems so FFXI takes the cake.

Best music? FFVII had the most tracks that I just loved. Other noticeable ones were VI, VIII, X.

Best characters? FFVII had the set of characters that I just loved, although I only didn't like cait sith. Every other FF had characters I didn't really care for in the main cast.

Best story? FFX. Maybe because of the graphics? And voice acting. I thought Yuna was pretty chill. Best romance for me in a FF game.

Best overall is FFVII. It was perfect for me, and I could probably play that game many times before being burned on it. Just an amazing experience.

FFVI takes a close second. Just is, you know.

I love quite a bit of them, but I probably favor FF8 the most. It was the very first one I played.
