also what are some super cheap hotels ?
I did not ask for your opinion on manchester!
we want to go there because there is a restaurant that we have to go to and there is no other option

Avoid Manchester its a dirty, busy, unclean city. Probably best to choose another city...

I LOVE Manchester. It's my home town.
A super hotel in Manchester is called 'The Place'
It's close to Manchester Piccadilly station and an apartment hotel, which means you get to stay in an entire apartment to yourselves! Prices are very reasonable too.
Lots to do on a date in Manchester. Sounds like you have a restaurant sorted out already.
Theatre options are impressive in the city - so you could take in a show? Art galleries and museums are free and interesting if that's your thing. Matt and Phreds bar (Northern Quarter) is always good - with live jazz most nights - very cool.
Another accommodation option is Days hotel on Sackville Street. It's attached to the Manchester Conference Centre and offers really good rooms at a good price in the heart of the city.

Afternoon tea at The Midland, The Lowry or Harvey Nichols?
Tram to Salford Quays to see the Lowry and MediaCityUK....Nice walk along the tree lined quayside....
All Star Lanes BOWLING @ southern end of Deansgate....
Walk around Spiningfileds via the AVENUE where the new upmarkets stores are?
HOTELS? Usual suspects....Travelodge, IBIS etc etc...Deals galore online....
