To be honest, you need to talk. Talk, talk, talk! :) Don't talk to the point where you are talking nonstop. Make sure she knows you exist. That is the first key. Then, kinda get to know her by listening and talking to or with her friends. If you're shy, I'm sorry. There is really no fix besides talking. Be Yourself! Yes first impressions count, but you don't want to fake it. That is how I got to know all of my old crushes. Most girls are not nice. Plus, don't just judge on looks. If she is nice, by all means, go for it! Who is gonna judge if you talk to someone? It's much easier when you sit near them or if you are in a project together. Don't bother her much during lunch. She wants to catch up with her friends. Otherwise, please don't be shy and back out. Never bad to try right? Even if you get rejected... which I unfortunately did hahaha but I don't know if likes me now... Oh well. Too late for that. I don't like him anymore.

Easiest thing to do is talk to her I did that with the guy I like about 6 months ago and now we are really good friends :)

Try to know her better .. Be her friend at first .. If she likes you she will show it . Just relax and don't be needy . Good luck
