Serious Fantasy Footballers only please...I have the 2nd Pick in the draft. Would you take Martin or Spiller?
I do not want Foster as I feel he is an injury risk. Most draft boards have Doug Martin or C.J Spiller at #2. What do you think and why?

Simply put: Only take Martin over Spiller if you are in a PPR league with no keeper for next year (that's the situation I'm in). Otherwise take Spiller first.
More info: I'm a huge Spiller fan--I've had him on my team since his rookie year. I got him as the fourth pick this year, however, I had every intention of taking Martin if I could have, because of the aforementioned PPR league with no keeper.
Things to consider:
If you are in a PPR league, Spiller gets a lot of extra points because he catches the short toss a lot, so he gets an initial point for each catch. I'm not sure how many of his projected points are based on him catching passes every week, but the Bills now lack any sort of starting QB, so Spiller will definitely not be catching many passes.
Doug Martin, on the other hand, also catches a lot of passes (he's projected to catch about 50 this year), and has a QB that you've at least heard of throwing to him. So he could end the year with more points than Spiller.
If you aren't in a PPR league, then the catch points won't matter, and I would definitely take Spiller over Martin. Spiller will have to run, as the loss of Stevie Johnson and any QB at all has impaired the already pathetic passing game the Bills have.
That goes for a league with a keeper, too. You would definitely want to have the option of keeping Spiller for next year rather than Martin.
Good call on not wanting to take Foster second. His fantasy stock is dropping fast. I just did the draft for my league last week, and Foster got picked 10th. I think a lot of fantasy players are very wary about him actually hitting his projections, injured or not.

Wow, that's a tough one (and irrelevant in my league--CJ is my keeper and Martin is someone else's). I think that both of them will explode this year and you'll be happy with either one. I'd say Spiller, just because Martin is so small. If your league has bonuses for long scores (ie, 25+yard TDs score 7) then you can give the edge to Martin. It's too close to call for me--I really like both of those guys, whether it's a PPR league or not.

I've gotta go with Spiller. He was a top10 running back last year with under 250 touches and will get somewhere much closer to 350 this season. He is dynamite in the screen game and also was top5 in yards after contact and was 2nd(bhind ADP) in yards per carry overall. His "handcuff" Fred Jackson is looking very old and very slow in preseason and the Bills don't have anyone else who would vulture carries from him. Also the Bills have some huge questions at QB meaning that they are gonna run the ball almost constantly and when they pass a lot will be in the screen and go game. Spiller is going to have a monster season. Go with him and you won't regret it.

Doug Martin for all sorts of reasons. He's got elite run protection (in fact, better than last year) and he also has a decent enough DEF to keep games close. It doesn't matter that Buffalo has no passing game. If they're behind by 21 points at halftime, the only way they can even attempt to win is to pass anyway. They won't have time to run.
