You should ask Putin, the current leader of Russia who has passed the Anti-Gay Law their. I'm sure he would tell you the numbers with pride since people around the world are starting to call him the "Modern Day Hitler" and the tons of really bad photo shoped pictures of his face morphed as Hitler. XD

You can't trust the stats because in the 1990's, many Russians pretended to be Jewish in order to escape the Soviet Union. As for the Jews living in Russia today, I've noticed that many of them are actually part or half Slavic. Totally not kidding! Not that all of them are mixed but, ethnically speaking, more than a few are as Russian as they are Jewish.

It's somewhere between about 1 and 1.5 million or so.

    Here is Demographic table

in 1989, there were nearly 1.5 millions of Jews living in the USSR (570,000 in Russian Socialist Soviet Republic), by 2002, there were only 460,000 in post USSR countries (265,000 in Russia), in 2010, there were 280,000 in post USSR countries (159,000 of them lived in Russia)

    Impressive, isn't it?
