Can I swap a 3rd Gen. i5 or i7 for a 1st Gen. i7 processor?
I'm planning to return what was represented as a new custom i7 CPU computer, and seems like maybe is really an old Dell Studio XPS DT8100 (seems like I got conned), in a generic (not Dell) case (with a tired 1st Gen. i7 processor...2009)...that is not performing at all. If all else fails, would it be feasible to switch to a newer Intel CPU--and make a "win" out of this disaster?
